Friendship Week

 15th - 19th November 2021

Each year at Springdale we celebrate Friendship Week (Anti-Bullying Week) and this year the national theme is ‘One Kind Word’. Assemblies and PSHE lessons during the week will focus on celebrating our differences, what makes a good friend, how to identify bullying and what to do about it.

Odd Socks Day- Monday

15th November!

In past years the children have really enjoyed wearing odd socks to celebrate their unique personalities so this year we would like to do the same. We will be participating in class assemblies about celebrating differences and completing some activities around this theme within our year group bubbles. If your child would like to participate, all they need to do is wear odd socks on Monday 15th November and we look forward to seeing their unique choices!

If you would like to participate with your children at home, follow the link to find a toolkit for parents and carers. You will find activities to support your child with friendships, being comfortable in their own skin and showing kindness to others. You will also find information about identifying and tackling bullying as well as links for further support with children’s mental health.

Children in Need

On Friday 19th November, children are invited to wear ‘spotty’ clothes or non – uniform to support Children in Need in exchange for a voluntary donation of £1.  You are welcome to give more if you wish.  This year, Children in Need day ends our Friendship week and we thought this would be a great way to show kindness to others and support children who are less fortunate than us.

Thank you for your support,

The School Council
